Published this month in the AJCP, the results of the 2014 vacancy survey are telling. There appears to be an overall increase in the vacancy and retirement rates of Laboratory personnel, but this runs up against the fact that vacancy rates for cytology and cytogenetics departments are relatively low.

The American Society for Clinical Pathology’s 2014 Vacancy Survey of Medical Laboratories in the United States
What does this mean for future Cytotechnologists and Cytogeneticists? Will the graduation rates of Cytotechs eventually fall behind the industry's needs? Feel free to comment below, or sound off on twitter or facebook.
Our Society, The Wisconsin Society of Cytology was formed to further the cause of cytotechnology and to provide the means for persons engaged and interested in the field to meet and exchange ideas and information. Anyone interested in cytology, regardless of residency, is invited to become a member.

Exhibitors
Exhibitors and Sponsorship
Members and Non-members with partnerships in industries related to Cytology and Pathology are encouraged to participate in all of our meetings. The most meaningful way to do this is to become a member and engage with the membership as an exhibitor at events or through sponsorship of our cause.
Here are some ways you can Participate
·
Network
as an exhibitor! … There’s no better way to meet new potential
clients than to visit with them face to face at our conferences.
·
Offer
raffle items or door prizes! … This is always a fun and effective
way to generate additional interest. In-house exhibitors may want a
sign-up area at your table for more face-time!
·
Sponsor
a portion of our meeting!
This
is the best way to show our profession that you care. As a not-for-profit, our
organization relies on the support of our industry partners. Your financial
assistance is truly vital to our mission of providing quality education at an
affordable cost.
…If you cannot be there in person…
·
Provide
an absentee exhibit!
...We will display your company’s promotional materials for you!
Pricing for exhibitor booths, advertising, sponsorship vary depending on our upcoming event
Please Contact our current Vice President for pricing information.
